Sugar beet is a fleshy root with very high sugar content; mostly cultivated in the northern half of France, harvesting begins at the end of September and ends in early January.

Our sugar beets harvested in autumn are transformed into sugar close to the farm area. On average, they travel less than 35 km from the field where they were grown to the sugar house.

To protect the environment, our sugar houses recycle almost half of the water they use, which corresponds to the annual consumption of about 80,000 people.

Half of the energy requirements of our sugar houses are covered by recycling waste. Our energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions have decreased continuously for the last 10 years.

Once the sugar has been extracted, the pulp of the beet is used as a component in animal feeds and as a fertilizer in the fields.
